You need to know about carbohydrates before you start any of these newfangled diet fads out there. A low carb diet could do a lot of good things for you, yes. But it is not always as cut and dried as some companies try to make it sound. For instance, a low carb diet is one thing, but a no carb diet (or nearly no carb) is something entirely different.

We at this complex carbohydrates' company advise you to count the carbs that you are currently eating in a day or a week. Write down everything. Get a book that lists the carb content of the foods you're eating or go online to find out. Measure everything and compare it to the serving sizes on food labels. If you're eating out, go online to see if the restaurant has a web site and nutrition information. This should give you a good idea of how many carbs you are eating each day, on average.

Many of us eat well over the amount we need, which is why we gain weight. But once you see how many you are eating, and compare it to what you need, try cutting back to only the amount you need. Do this before committing to a Super Low Carb diet. If you have trouble, then maybe diet comprised strictly of low carb recipes and foods just isn't for you. But if you find living without carbs is easy, then go for it!
